Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has officially updated the Baleno and Ertiga with six airbags as standard across all variants, marking another significant step toward the brand’s commitment to improved vehicle safety. This move follows MSIL’s earlier pledge to equip its entire lineup with six airbags.
Enhanced Safety Across the Range
Previously, only the top-spec Baleno trims — Zeta and Alpha — featured six airbags. With this update, the entry-level Sigma and mid-spec Delta variants also receive the same level of safety. The same applies to the Ertiga, which now comes equipped with six airbags regardless of variant.
These updates follow the recent safety upgrades to models like the Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R, and Eeco, which now also offer six airbags as standard.
Price Hike Details
While the upgrades enhance safety, they do come with a slight price revision:
-
Baleno: Approximate hike of 0.5%
-
Ertiga: Approximate hike of 1.4%
An official price list has yet to be released, but the changes are effective from July 16, 2025.
Other Standard Safety Features
In addition to six airbags, the Baleno now includes:
-
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
-
Hill Hold Assist
-
